Individual principal city codes: September, 1995-April, 2004
The city code must be used in combination with the metropolitan area code METFIPS to identify a specific city. For example, in order to identify Winston-Salem, NC (INDIVIDCC code 2) users must also specify the METFIPS code 03120 (Greensboro-Winston-Salem). Note that a code of 0 means that the household's city of residence is not identified. This could be the case for households in other cities of identified metropolitan area, or for households not in an identified metropolitan area.
