These codes come from Unicon Corporation's Appendix E. This information is relevant to the IPUMS-CPS unharmonized variables UH_MSAFP_B1 and UH_MSAFP_A2. These apply in 1989-May 1995 in the Basic Monthly data and in years 1986-1995 in the ASEC data.
