Description

VLADMIN indicates whether administrative work was part of the respondent's volunteer opportunities with the main organization, which is determined by the greatest number of hours volunteered in the past year. Researchers could use VLWTORG1 through VLWTORG7 (weeks in the last year volunteered with at a given organization) and VLHTORG1 through VLHTORG7 (hours per week spent volunteering at a given organization) to calculate an annual total and identify the main organization. The annual hours spent volunteering by the main organization is also reported in VLHMAINORG.

Comparability

The wording for the question in 2002 was "unpaid consulting or administrative work", while for 2003 and later, the question was phrased as "provide general office services".
