Description
For smokers who were advised to quit smoking by a medical professional in the past twelve months, TMEDPILL indicates whether or not a medical professional prescribed the respondent smoking cessation products, such as Chantix, Varenicline, Zyban, Bupropion, or Wellbutrin to help quit smoking.
This variable is a part of the Tobacco Use Supplement.
Universe
- Self-respondent smokers age 18 or older who had seen a medical professional and was advised to quit.
- May 2011: Self-respondent smokers age 18 or older who had seen a medical professional and was advised to quit; MIS 5-8 only.
