BCREDITCARD reports whether anyone in the household had a credit card from Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover during the past 12 months.
This variable is part of the Unbanked/Underbanked Supplement.
Comparability
In 2019-forward, nonresponses to Unbanked/Underbanked Supplement questions were allocated based on households with similar demographics. The data quality flag for BCREDITCARD is QBCREDITCARD.
This variable is otherwise comparable across all available years.
Universe
- Jun 2015, Jun 2017, Jun 2019, Jun 2021, and Jun 2023: Households that report having or not having bank accounts, and have a respondent age 15 or older, who has knowledge of household finances.
