Description
For respondents who currently use one or more non-cigarette tobacco or nicotine products every day or some days (TCIGAR, TPIPE, TSMKLS, TWPIPE, TNICPOUCH, THEATTOB, or ECIGFREQ), TTOBTYPAMTIME identifies the non-cigarette tobacco or nicotine product or products referenced in TTOBAMTIME.
This variable is part of the Tobacco Use Supplement.
Comparability
In the 2010 and 2011 samples, current cigarette smokers (TFREQ) were excluded from this variable. In later samples, current cigarette smoking was not excluded. The tobacco or nicotine products represented by this variable have changed as the Tobacco Use Supplement has added, combined or removed product types.
Universe
- 2010-2011: Respondents excluding current cigarette smokers (TFREQ) who currently use one or more non-cigarette tobacco or nicotine products every day or some days (TCIGAR, TPIPE, TSMKLS, TWPIPE, TNICPOUCH, THEATTOB, or ECIGFREQ).
- 2014-present: Respondents who currently use one or more non-cigarette tobacco or nicotine products every day or some days (TCIGAR, TPIPE, TSMKLS, TWPIPE, TNICPOUCH, THEATTOB, or ECIGFREQ).
