Description
VNOTAPDK indicates whether respondents did not attend a TAP (Transition Assistance Program) workshop because they were unaware of the workshop or were too late to register.
VNOTAPDK is part of a series of variables identifying reasons why veterans did attend a TAP workshop. Other variables in this series include VNOTAPCON, VNOTAPDENY, VNOTAPED, VNOTAPJOB, VNOTAPOFF, VNOTAPOTH, and VNOTAPTIME.These variables were asked as one "mark all that apply" question.
From 2007 forward, this variable is split into two response options, one for not knowing when or where the workshop was and being too late, and another for being totally unaware the workshop existed. For comparability with pre-2007 samples, these have been combined into one variable.
This variable is part of the Veterans Supplement
Comparability
In 2003 and earlier samples, Veterans Supplement respondents were 18 and older; in 2005 and later, respondents to the supplement were 17 and older.
In 2001-2005, respondents who reported that they could have attended a TAP workshop, but did not, were considered in universe.
In 2007 forward, all respondents who reported not attending a TAP workshop are in universe.
