Description
VNOTAPDENY indicates whether respondents did not attend a TAP (Transition Assistance Program) workshop because their commanding officer did not support, or would not authorize, attendance.
VNOTAPDENY is part of a series of variables identifying reasons why veterans did attend a TAP workshop. Other variables in this series include VNOTAPCON, VNOTAPDK, VNOTAPED, VNOTAPJOB, VNOTAPOFF, VNOTAPOTH, and VNOTAPTIME.These variables were asked as one "mark all that apply" question.
This variable is part of the Veterans Supplement
Comparability
In 2003 and earlier samples, Veterans Supplement respondents were 18 and older; in 2005 and later, respondents to the supplement were 17 and older.
In 2001-2005, respondents who reported that they could have attended a TAP workshop, but did not, were considered in universe.
In 2007 forward, all respondents who reported not attending a TAP workshop are in universe.
