Description

VLWTORG7 indicates the number of weeks per year that the respondent dedicated to volunteering for organization #7. Researchers may also be interested in the type of organization in which the respondent volunteered (VLTORG7) and the number of hours per week volunteered for the same organization (VLHTORG7). The same information is available for up to seven volunteer organizations.

This variable is part of the Volunteer Supplement.

Comparability

This variable is generally comparable across samples. However, responses were not top coded prior to 2013, but in 2013 were top coded at 26 or more weeks.
