Description
VEMOTHUSE indicates whether respondents who reported using a strategy for finding employment or job related training that does not involve some kind of contact with a state employment office, considered those other methods to be useful.
This variable is part of the Veterans Supplement
Comparability
In 2003 and earlier samples, Veterans Supplement respondents were 18 and older; in 2005 and later, respondents to the supplement were 17 and older.
In 2001 VEMOTHUSE was asked of all veterans who used non-state employment office methods for finding employment (VEMOTH).
In 2003, only veterans under 65 years old who used non-state employment office methods for finding employment were considered in universe.

- 2001: Veterans who used a strategy other than working with state employment agency for finding job/obtaining job-related training since leaving active duty
- 2003-2020: Veterans under 65 years old who used a strategy other than working with state employment agency for finding job/obtaining job-related training since leaving active duty
