Description
TWKPOLICY reports the smoking policy in work areas for the employer of the survey respondent. This variable provides information about whether the employer has a policy and how strong the policy is.
In 1992 and 1993, some unidentified respondents also answered this question. These individuals were expected to not be in the universe; however, they were included in the original data.
This variable is part of the Tobacco Use Supplement.
Universe
- 1992-1993 (selected months): Self respondents age 15+ who are not retired or self employed, and worked indoors, though not in someone's home, or did not specify their work area.
- 1995-2007 (selected months): Self respondents age 15+ who worked last week, are not retired or self employed, and worked indoors, though not in someone's home.
- 2003 (selected months): Self respondents age 15+ who worked last week, are not retired or self employed, and worked indoors, though not in their own home or someone's home.
- ts: Persons interviewed for the Tobacco Use Supplement (TBRESP) who worked last week, are not retired or self employed, and worked indoors, though not in their own home or someone's home.
- May 2011: Persons interviewed for the Tobacco Use Supplement (TBRESP) who worked last week, are not retired or self employed, and worked indoors, though not in their own home or someone's home; MIS 5-8 only.
