Description
TPILL indicates whether a smoker who tried to quit in the past twelve months or a former smoker who quit in the past five years used a prescription pill, called Zyban, Bupropion, or Wellbutrin in the attempt to quit.
This variable is a part of the Tobacco Use Supplement.
Universe
- 2003 (Selected months): Self-respondent smokers age 15 or older who tried to quit in the last 12 months, or former smokers who stopped smoking within the last 5 years.
- [2010+: Persons interviewed for the Tobacco Use Supplement (TBRESP) who are current smokers who tried to quit in the last 12 months, or former smokers who stopped smoking within the last 5 years.
- May 2011: Persons interviewed for the Tobacco Use Supplement (TBRESP) who are current smokers who tried to quit in the last 12 months, or former smokers who stopped smoking within the last 5 years; MIS 5-8 only.
