Description
TATONCE indicates whether a smoker who attempted to quit in the past 12 months or former smokers who quit in the past 5 years stopped smoking all at once as a method to quit smoking.
This variable is a part of the Tobacco Use Supplement.
Universe
- 2003: Self-respondent smokers age 15 or older who tried to quit in the last 12 months, or former smokers who stopped smoking within the last 5 years.
- 2010+: Persons interviewed for the Tobacco Use Supplement (TBRESP) who are current smokers who tried to quit in the last 12 months, or former smokers who stopped smoking within the last 5 years.
- May 2011: Persons interviewed for the Tobacco Use Supplement (TBRESP) who are current smokers who tried to quit in the last 12 months, or former smokers who stopped smoking within the last 5 years; MIS 5-8 only.
