Description
FSSTMPJUN indicates whether anyone in the household received SNAP or food stamp benefits during the month of June of the year in which the household was interviewed.
From 1995-2001, respondents were instead asked to report the last month in which members of the household received SNAP benefits (FSSTMPMO).
For samples from 1995 forward, the day on which respondents receive benefits in available in FSSTMPDAY.
This variable is part of the Food Security Supplement.
Universe
- 1977: Households that reported receiving food stamps between January and July of 1977
- 2002+: Households receiving SNAP/food stamps in past year and who responded to question on receipt in January.
