Description
DWWAGEC is a Census Bureau recode that gives the approximate hourly wage earnings for the respondent's current job. Unusually low values, such as zeroes or values near one are found in the original data.
This variable is part of the Displaced Workers Supplement.
Inflation-adjusted versions created with the Adjust Monetary Values tool will use the default reference year for the sample (i.e., survey year [YEAR] for basic monthly and previous year [YEAR-1] for ASEC).
Universe
- Civilians age 20 or older who lost or left their job in the last three years because the plant closed down, their shift or position was eliminated, or there was insufficient work, reported paid by the hour, and were currently employed.
