Description
CWTYINCTR indicates whether the individual was an independent contractor. Note that independent contractors are those who are identified as independent contractors, consultants, or freelance workers, regardless of whether they are identified as wage or salary workers who obtain their own customers (see CWCONTRACT) or self-employed in the CPS monthly data (see CWSEEMP).
This variable is one of four that defines alternative employment arrangements. Alternative employment arrangements are determined by the workers' relationship to their employer. The four alternative work arrangements available in this supplement include CWTYTEMP, CWTYINCTR, CWTYCOCTR, and CWTYCALLDAY.
This variable is part of the Contingent Work Supplement.
