Description
BPPAID12M reports whether a household has used prepaid cards during the last 12 months.
This variable is part of the Unbanked/Underbanked Supplement.
Comparability
In 2013 this question was only asked of households that reported ever having used prepaid cards. In 2015 forward there is no such restriction.
In 2019, nonresponses to Unbanked/Underbanked Supplement questions were allocated based on households with similar demographics. The data quality flag for BPPAID12M is QBPPAID12M.
Universe
- Jun 2013: Households that report having or not having bank accounts, that reported ever having used prepaid cards, and have a respondent age 15 or older, who has knowledge of household finances.
- Jun 2015, Jun 2017, and Jun 2019: Households that report having or not having bank accounts, and have a respondent age 15 or older, who has knowledge of household finances.
