Description
BCREDITDENY reports whether anyone in the household applied for new credit, but was either denied or given less than applied for during the last 12 months.
This variable is part of the Unbanked/Underbanked Supplement.
Comparability
In 2019, nonresponses to Unbanked/Underbanked Supplement questions were allocated based on households with similar demographics. The data quality flag for BCREDITDENY is QBCREDITDENY.
This variable is otherwise comparable across all available years.
Universe
- Households that report having or not having bank accounts, that have applied for a credit card, personal loan, or line of credit in the past 12 months, and have a respondent age 15 or older, who has knowledge of household finances.
