This variable is part of the Unbanked/Underbanked Supplement.
Comparability
In 2011 and 2013, only those who reported ever having gone to a non-bank location to cash a check were asked this question. This was not a requirement to be in universe for BCHECK12M in 2015 and on.
In 2019 and 2021, nonresponses to Unbanked/Underbanked Supplement questions were allocated based on households with similar demographics. The data quality flag for BCHECK12M is QBCHECK12M.
