Description
BAUTOTITLE12M indicates for unbanked households whether or not anyone in the household has had an auto title loan within the previous 12 months.
This variable is part of the Unbanked/Underbanked Supplement.
Comparability
In 2013, only those households who reported having ever had an auto title loan were asked if they had one during the past 12 months. In 2015 and on, having ever had an auto title loan is not a requirement for inclusion in this variable.
In 2019 and 2021, nonresponses to Unbanked/Underbanked Supplement questions were allocated based on households with similar demographics. The data quality flag for BAUTOTITLE12M is QBAUTOTITLE12M.
Universe
- Jun 2013: Households that indicated someone had ever taken out an auto title loan, report having or not having bank accounts, and have a respondent aged 15 or older, who has knowledge of household finances.
- Jun 2015, Jun 2017, Jun 2019, and Jun 2021: Households that report having or not having bank accounts, and have a respondent aged 15 or older, who has knowledge of household finances.
