Description
BACCTFUTURE indicates for unbanked households how likely it is that someone in the household will open a bank account in the future.
This variable is part of the Unbanked/Underbanked Supplement.
Comparability
In 2009 and 2011, the time frame is unspecified. Starting in 2013, the time frame is restricted to the next 12 months.
In 2009 there is an additional screening question about whether or not the household is in the process of opening an account. Only "No" responses were considered in universe for BACCTFUTURE in 2009.
Universe
- Jan 2009: Households with no bank accounts, that do not plan to open an account, and a respondent aged 15 or older, who has knowledge of household finances.
- Jun 2011, Jun 2013, Jun 2015, and Jun 2017: Households with no bank accounts and a respondent aged 15 or older, who has knowledge of household finances.
