Description
BACCTFUTREAS reports the main reason why someone in the household is planning on opening a bank account in the future (see BACCTFUTURE for whether someone in the household is planning on opening a bank account in the future).
Comparability
In 2009, the wording for code 1 is "To secure your money", and in 2011 becomes "To put money in a safe place".
The universe changes between 2009 and 2011. In 2009, only households who answer "very likely" for BACCTFUTURE are asked this question. In 2011, this question is asked of households who answer "very likely" or "somewhat likely" for BACCTFUTURE.
Note that the time frame for BACCTFUTURE is unspecified in these years.
