Description
BACCTACCS reports the most common way that households with bank accounts accessed those accounts during the last 12 months.
Respondents were asked to report all methods their household used in the last 12 months from a list of ways accounts could have been accessed. Those who reported their household had accessed an account in at least one of those ways were asked to identify the most common in BACCTACCS.
This variable is part of the Unbanked/Underbanked Supplement.
Comparability
In 2019 and 2021, nonresponses to Unbanked/Underbanked Supplement questions were allocated based on households with similar demographics. The data quality flag for B BACCTACCS is QBACCTACCS.
This variable is otherwise comparable across all available years.
Universe
- Jun 2013, Jun 2015, and Jun 2017: Households that report having or not having bank accounts, in which someone accessed an account in the last 12 months, and have a respondent age 15 or older, who has knowledge of household finances.
- Jun 2019 and Jun 2021: Households that report currently having bank accounts, having an account in the last 12 months, or have prepaid cards from banks; in which someone accessed an account in the last 12 months, and have a respondent age 15 or older, who has knowledge of household finances.
