Description
WSWKHMHRS reports the number of hours worked from home for the respondent's primary job. This includes both work done at home for pay, as well as work done at home outside of paid work hours (e.g. brought extra work home).
The "primary job" is defined as the job at which the respondent worked the most hours.
This variable is part of the Work Schedules Supplement.
Comparability
In 1985 and 1997, the respondent was asked to report the number of hours worked from home in the previous week. In later years, the respondent was asked to report the number of hours worked from home in a usual week.
In 1997, only regular hours worked, not extra hours, are included in this variable.
