Description

WSWKHMPAID reports whether the respondent was paid for hours worked at home. This clarified whether respondents who worked from home (WSWKHM=1) were doing so formally (arrangement by employer to pay for hours) or informally (taking extra work home outside of paid hours).

Prior to 2001, self-employed respondents were included in this measure.

In 1997, respondents were asked how many hours they worked at home for which they were paid (WSPAYHMHRS).

This variable is part of the Work Schedules Supplement.

Apart from a universe change starting in 2001, this variable is comparable across the available years.
