Description

WSENDTIME reports the time of day at which the respondent's primary job usually ended last week. Times are recorded using a 12 hour basis in the following format: HHMM. WSENDTIME is used in connection with WSENDAMPM to determine if the time recorded in WSENDTIME refers to the AM or PM time of day.

The "primary job" is defined as the job at which the respondent worked the most hours.

This variable is part of the Work Schedules Supplement.

Comparability

In the 1991 survey, respondents could choose only an hour interval (1:00, 2:00, 3:00, etc.). In subsequent surveys, the respondent could specify a time to the minute. Additionally, beginning in the 1997 survey, response categories indicating "Varies", "Refused", and "Don't Know" were added. Aside from these differences, this variable is comparable over time.
