VTSUPPWT is the weight specific to the Veterans Supplement, and should be used for all analyses using variables from this supplement.

Comparability

In 1985, only males were eligible for the Veterans Supplement.

From 1987 onward, the Veterans Supplement weight is identical to the Veterans Weight from the basic monthly survey.

This variable is otherwise comparable over all available years.

Universe

  • 1985-onward: All persons.
  • 1987-onward: Persons age 16 or older.
