PSALSAN is a 3-digit numeric variable.

Beginning in 2022, PSALSAN is topcoded at 7, which represents 11 or more Latin, Spanish, or Salsa music performances. In addition, codes of 6 and higher represent a range of values rather than representing a single value. The codes are as follows:

1 – One
2 – Two
3 – Three
4 – Four
5 – Five
6 – Six to Ten
7 – Eleven or more

996 – Refused
997 – Don't Know
998 – No Response
999 – Not in Universe

Description

PSALSAN is a three digit variable that reports the number of live Latin, Spanish, or Salsa music performances that the respondent attended during the last 12 months. This variable is only available for respondents who responded "yes" to PSALSA.

This variable is part of the Public Arts Supplement.
