PLIVMUS reports whether the respondent attended any live music performances during the last 12 months. In 2012, respondents also indicated whether their spouse participated in these activities.

There are a number of other Public Arts variables that may be useful to look at music activities done over the past year including: PJAZZ, POPERA, PSALSA, and PMUSICAL.

This variable is part of the Public Arts Supplement.

Comparability

In 2012, the question explicitly excludes elementary and high school performances, while in 2017, it indicates that these performances could include professional, community, or student musicians.
