PASUPPWT is a 10-digit numeric variable. In the original data there are four implied decimals. The IPUMS command files automatically make the necessary adjustment, so no further adjustment is needed.
Description
PASUPPWT is one of the Public Arts Supplement weights. For more information about weighting Public Arts Supplement variables, please see Weighting the IPUMS CPS Public Arts Supplement. PASUPPWT should be used for analyses using all Public Arts variables in 2002, 2013-2016, 2018, and 2020; as well as for variables present in Core 1 sections of 2008, 2012, 2017, and 2022.
Comparability
Supplement universes vary across years. The May 2008, July 2012, July 2017, and July 2022 Public Arts Supplement has substantial differences in structure compared to other months. The May 2008, July 2012, July 2017, and July 2022 surveys are divided into core and module sections. Which respondents and which variables are included in which core and module varies across years. For more information on Public Arts survey designs and implications for comparability and weighting, please see the Public Arts Supplement sample notes and Weighting the IPUMS CPS Public Arts Supplement.
