Description
NOLINKFLAG indicates whether or not a person may be linked across samples using CPSIDP. This variable is only available for samples between 1978 and 1981 in which child records were included. Records with an age of 13 and under only appear in the samples with supplements in these years. As a result, child records in a given sample cannot be linked to a sample that doesn't contain children. In samples between 1978 and 1981 that contain children, records of ages 13 and under have a CPSIDP value of 0 and have a NOLINKFLAG value of 1. Users wishing to link across samples in this period should drop records with a NOLINKFLAG value of 1.
Samples to which NOLINKFLAG applies are September, October, and November 1978, May, June, September, October, November, and December 1979, May, June, September, October, and November 1980, and May, June, September, October, and December of 1981.
