Comparability
MHMARLSEPY is limited to ever-married women in all available samples, except for 1980 where ever-married men are included.
In 1980 and 1990, the MHMARLSEPY variable includes women who have been married only once. These women also have values for "year of first separation" (MHMAR1SEPY); for these cases, values for MHMAR1SEPY and MHMARLSEPY are the same. In 1995, women who have been married only once are in-universe only for MHMARLSEPY.
