Description
MARRQTR reports the quarter of the year (January-March, April-June, July-September, October-December) in which the respondent was first married. All persons under age 14 were presumed to be single and were not questioned about their marital history.
The information on quarter of marriage was transcribed by the CPS interviewer, based on reported information about the month and year of marriage for the individual.
Comparability
This variable is fully comparable across years.
