Description

FSKFDAVL indicates whether the kinds of foods the household wanted to eat were available to them. This question is asked of households reporting having enough to eat, but not always enough of the kinds of food they wanted to eat (see FSFOODS).

FSKFDAVL is one of five questions these households are asked about the reasons that they did not always have enough of the kinds of foods they wanted to eat. Households were also asked whether this occurred for the following reasons: not enough money for these foods (FSKFMONY); difficulty getting to the store (FSKFSTOR); no time for shopping and cooking (FSKFTIME); and being on a special diet (FSKFDIET).

This variable is part of the Food Security Supplement.
