Description

CWREASTIME indicates whether being hired for a fixed amount of time is the reason for a respondent's ended, or ending, employment.

CWREASTIME was only asked of workers who were temporary (CWTEMP), could not have stayed in their job from last week (CWCONTOLD), or could not continue in their current job (CWCONTCUR).

CWREASUNTL, CWREASWRKR, CWREASTIME, and CWREASYEAR are used to identify reasons respondents have temporary jobs. These variables were presented sequentially. Once a respondent positively identified a reason their employment was ending, they were considered NIU for the rest of the sequence. Therefore, each respondent may have only one "Yes" response between these four variables. Other responses may appear in any combination. It is recommended these variables be used in conjunction with one another when analyzing temporary work data.
