CWCONTOLD indicates whether the respondent could have continued to work at their previous job (see CWSAMELWK) if they had wanted.
This variable is part of the Contingent Work Supplement.
Universe
- 1995-1999: Civilians age 16+, who were employed, but not self-employed, did not have a temporary job, and had a different employer last week.
- 2001-2005: Civilians in month-in-sample 1-3 or 5-7, age 16+, who were employed, but not self-employed, did not have a temporary job, and had a different employer last week.
- 2017: Civilians age 16+, who were employed, but not self-employed, did not have the same employer as last week and did not report being temporary workers
