Description

CWLENTMPU indicates the unit of time that the respondent has worked for the current employer. This variable is for the respondent who is a temporary worker (see CWTEMP) but was not paid by a temporary agency (CWPDTAG), was not on call (CWONCALL), a day laborer (CWDAYLAB), or working for a company that contracted out services (CWCONTRACT) in the last week. Note that CWLENTMPN indicates the number associated with the unit.

This variable is part of the Contingent Work Supplement.

Universe

  • 1995-1999: Civilians age 16+ who were employed, but not self-employed, were in temporary jobs, not paid by a temporary help agency, and in the past week were not on-call, not day laborers, and did not work for a company that contracts out the respondent or their services.
  • 2001-2005: Civilians in month-in-sample 1-3 or 5-7 age 16+ who were employed, but not self-employed, were in temporary jobs, not paid by a temporary help agency, and in the past week were not on-call, not day laborers, and did not work for a company that contracts out the respondent or their services.
  • 2017: Civilians age 16+ who were employed, but not self-employed, were in temporary jobs, not paid by a temporary help agency, and in the past week were not on-call, not day laborers, and did not work for a company that contracts out the respondent or their services.
