CWHIEMP reports whether a respondent with health insurance (see CWHICOV) gets that health insurance through their primary employer.

This variable is part of the Contingent Work Supplement.
Universe
- 1995-1999: Civilians age 16+ who were employed, but not self-employed, and had health insurance
- 2001-2005: Civilians in month-in-sample 1-3 or 5-7 age 16+ who were employed, but not self-employed, and had health insurance
- 2017: Civilians age 16+ who were employed, but not self-employed, and had health insurance
