Description
For former smokers and current daily and non-daily smokers (TSMKER) who usually (TUBRAND) or have ever smoked menthol cigarettes for 6 months (TMENTH6M), TMENTHDUR reports the length of time (in categories) that the respondent smoked menthol cigarettes.
This variable is part of the Tobacco Use Supplement. This IPUMS variable was constructed using multiple original survey variables and as a result, combinations of response options that only included "refused", "don't know" or "no response" were coded as 95 (Non response).
