See Appendix T.1 for Census defined conversions of new health insurance variables to old. In 2000 this variable was appended from a Census released patch file. The value reflects the results following a new verification item. See zhiemp for the original 2000 value. The 2001 values as released in the Public Use file already incorporate the results of the new verification item (ahiper). See Appendix T.6 for a discussion of these enhanced values.
