Unicon Corporation made the following notes about this variable:
In 2002+, the Census dropped the topcoding of age to 80, and perturbed (scrambled) the value of age for certain records with ages 66-80 and less than 12. They did not allow the revised ages to go outside those barriers; that is, no one whose age was 67 ended up with an age of less than 66, no one aged 9 ended up with an age greater than 11.
These years are topcoded at 80.
