Description
CWLENOCU indicates the unit of time that the respondent has worked for the employer where s/he was employed last week as an on-call worker. This variable is for the respondent who is an on-call worker (CWONCALL). Note that CWLENOCN indicates the number associated with the unit.
A related variable, CWLENOCWU, indicates the time that the on-call worker has been working as an on-call worker.
This variable is part of the Contingent Work Supplement.
Comparability
In some samples there are a small number of cases that are classed as "in universe" despite not meeting universe requirements. The number of cases in each sample is as follows:

Universe
- 1995-1999: Civilians age 16+ who were employed, but not self-employed, and worked as an on-call worker in the past week.
- 2001-2005: Civilians in month-in-sample 1-3 or 5-7 age 16+ who were employed, but not self-employed, and worked as an on-call worker in the past week.
- 2017: Civilians age 16+ who were employed, but not self-employed, and worked as an on-call worker in the past week.
