Description

PLBKREAD reports whether the respondent has attended a live book reading or a poetry or storytelling event during the last 12 months.

This does not include bible readings that are part of regular church services. Reading events for children do count, but it does not include readings done by children that are part of an elementary, middle or high school performance.

This variable is part of the Public Arts Supplement.

Comparability

Supplement universes vary across years. The May 2008, July 2012, and July 2017 Public Arts Supplement has substantial differences in structure compared to other months.
