Description
MHAGESEPL indicates the respondent's age in months at last separation.
Comparability
Men are included in MHAGESEPL in the 1980 sample only.
In 1980 and 1990, the respondent must be currently separated or divorced to be in-universe for MHAGESEPL.
In 1980 and 1990, the MHAGESEPL variable includes women who have been married only once. These women also have values for "age at first separation" (MHAGESEP1); in these cases, values for MHAGESEP1 and MHAGESEPL are the same. In 1995, women who have been married only once are in-universe only for MHAGESEPL.
Universe
- Jun 1980: Persons 15-75 who have ever been married.
- Jun 1990 and Jun 1995: Females 15-65 who have ever been married who are currently separated or divorced.
