JTSAME gives whether the respondent was doing the same type of work one year ago.
This variable is part of the Job Tenure Supplement.
Universe
- Jan 1987 and Jan 1983: Civilians age 14 or older employed during the reference week and employed one year ago.
- 1991: Civilians age 15 or older employed during the reference week and employed one year ago.
- 1996+: Civilians age 15 or older employed during the reference week, and either worked for the current employer for over a year or was working one year ago and had an entry for the Job Tenure supplement occupation variable.
