Description
CIHHCOMP indicates whether or not there is a computer in the person's household.
This question was only asked of respondents, whose answers were then attributed to the rest of the household residents. Therefore, the universe statement only pertains to the respondent. Generally, persons labeled "Not In Universe" were in the Armed Forces, placing them outside of the question universe.
This variable is part of the Computer Internet Supplement.
Universe
- 1984: Civilians age 14 or older.
- 1989-1993: Civilians age 15 or older.
- 1997-2010: All persons.
