Description
OFFPOVUNIV denotes whether an individual is considered to be in the official poverty universe. From 1979 through 1969, the universe for official poverty rates includes secondary individuals aged 14 years and up. From 1980 and on, only secondary individuals aged 15 and older are considered in universe (see FTYPE and FAMREL for further information on Census family types). Refer to the notes for Replicating Official Poverty for further information.
