Comparability
Apart from universe differences in the lower age limit of respondents, this variable is comparable across years. WHYABSNT specifies the reasons respondents gave for being absent from work during the preceding week.

- 1968-1979: Civilians age 14+ who were absent from a job last week.
- 1980-1993: Civilians age 15+ who were absent from a job last week.
