Includes persons who are not enrolled in Medicare, but are covered by another household member's policy. See Appendix T.1 for Census defined conversions of new health insurance variables to old. This is the original release version of the variable, before the inclusion of the verification question. See Appendix T.6.

- Anyone in household covered by medicare (hmcare=1).
