Tenure of household - 1989-2009
Unicon Corporation made the following notes about this variable:
Beginning with the Sep 2000 file, the BLS began to withhold this variable from the public use file. In the summer of 2005, they announced that the file became available only via an extraction from the Census DataFerret system. Users were instructed to perform the extraction and do their own merge with the BLS public use files. Due to changes in the match variables available during these years, the merge was not at all straightforward. Values are updated each quarter. October through December 2009 do not have values as of this release.
These string values in the original data have been recoded as follows:
blank => -9 : Missing
Universe
- 1989-1993: All interview households.
- 1994-2009: All interview households or unit is vacant or temporarily occupied by persons with ure.
